History on Extec Screens & Crushers Ltd
Extec Industries was formed in 1987 with the aim of becoming the world leading manufacturer of mobile screening and crushing technology.
The simple idea was to construct an integrated screening system that would combine true mobility with high productivity.
This resulted in the mould breaking 5000.
Due to the success of the machine, production was moved first to Brightside lane in Sheffield, and then as the business grew to larger premises in Wincobank.
Dealing with an ever increasing world market Extec has operated an international distribution service to cater for ever increasing global demand. A key element of Extec's success has been its first class production facilities. Through massive investment in the bespoke factory development in Swadlincote, and use of the latest technology, Extec has managed to increase production to satisfy demand.
History on Fintec Crushing & Screening Ltd
Finlay BME was started back in the early 1950s, by the late John Finlay.
John Finlay originally began his business as general engineering for the concrete industry. In those early years, most of his engineering designs were focused on his own needs within the concrete business. From this most humble of beginnings, he built up a very strong engineering group of Finlay companies, which included mobile screening, mobile block machinery and forklift trucks.
Up to his untimely death in 1986, the Finlay companies were renowned around the world for quality engineering and excellent after sales support. John Finlay was synomonous within the concrete industry in Ireland and indeed, was considered an equal with Harry Ferguson, another Northern Ireland engineering genius.
This expansive product development programme was continued after the death of John Finlay, by his son Stephen. To coincide with this product expansion, the company also embarked on an ambitious £5m investment, into a state of the art 130,000 sq ft facility, which was officially opened in June 2001.
Since 2001 the growing demand for the extensive range of products that Finlay BME, which is now known as Fintec Crushing & Screening Ltd, can offer, has meant that our manufacturing capacity has had to develop and increase significantly. As a result, in March 2006 Fintec officially opened their new warehousing facilities to measure approx 200,000 sq ft
